Sound Sample of a Harmonium
A top quality Harmonium with full tonal range. The keyboard has 39 keys and thus supplies a tonal range of 3 octaves and two semitone steps. Three fully adjustable drones are possible. The double reeds ensure that every note is equipped with two reeds (for medium and lower octave). Four registers with different settings make various timbres possible by blowing the reeds either separately or together. Compared to the standard model of the same manufacturer, this instrument has improved mechanics, an excellent quality of workmanship as well as top quality materials. So the Premium Harmonium is a significantly higher-quality instrument than the standard model.
After unlocking, the bellows unfold themselves by falling to the back while automatically filling themselves with air. They just have to be pulled by hand towards the harmonium again and again while playing.
The international trademark "PALOMA" stands for instruments by the manufacturer Haribhau Vishwanath from Mumbai in India. The company was founded in 1925 and has developed from a small repair shop to one of the leading harmonium makers over the last decades. They also make string and percussion instruments. Due to the good infrastructure and the long years of experience in instrument making, Haribhau is able to supply all the popular harmonium models in consistently excellent quality of workmanship.
If you want to use the Harmonium together with western instruments that have a fixed tuning, please let us know when ordering and inform us of the exact tuning pitch you require. We would like to point out that it can happen that this harmonium, like some others of our instruments, is not tuned to the standard tuning pitch A with 440 Hertz, but a little higher to A 442 Hertz. The difference can in some cases also be somewhat bigger either up or down. When the instrument is being played together with other instruments, problems might arise.
