Typical of the Thai gong (Hump Gong) is the light, warm sound pattern which has a meditative keynote and a harmonizing effect.

General information about handmade gongs

The gong is an ancient cultural symbol of China. Still today there are many gong forges in that country which produce handmade gongs in the traditional way. Each gong is a work of art and of excellent craftsmanship and the results are unique. The bigger the gong the more impressive the sound results that can be produced by different techniques (tempo, striking power, rhythm, muffling etc.). Also different sticks can influence the sound result.

Each gong is supplied together with a simple standard stick which is by all means sufficient for gongs up to a size of 70 cm in diameter. For bigger gongs however, we recommend that you order also a premium stick, you will surely produce an even better sound with it.
