Each of the singing bowl pads has its own specific effect on the timbre and the sustained frequencies of the singing bowl. Apart from the fact that they look different, it is up to you to decide which pad you choose. The flat pads have the least distance to the surface on which the singing bowl stands and so the sound is influenced by that. In our view, the stuffed pads and the rings are better suited to produce a warm, soft and lasting sound. The rings, in particular, have proven to be very helpful in compensating remaining interferences. With the rings, the bottom of the singing bowl does not touch the surface of the table and is well supported by the ring which has a very positive effect on the sound pattern. So the new rings, although a little higher in price, are absolutely recommendable!
