Start by wrapping the Ghungroos rather tightly around your leg. This may seem too tight at first but bear in mind that the Ghungroos will become looser through the movement and the footwork during dancing. The Ghungroos should then still fit tightly enough so that they do not bang against your foot and cause pain. You will probably have to strap the Ghungroos a couple of times to get your own experience regarding the necessary tightness.
In order to achieve more wearing comfort, you can cut the upper part of an old sock and put it on your leg. When you then strap the Ghungroos over it, you might feel more comfortable (see last picture).
