The Five Star Naal has a certain likeness to the Dholak. The Five Star Naal is manufactured by a Dholak and Naal maker in Kolkata who also supplies Dholaks to all the maestros. Just as the Five Star Dholaks, the Naal is characterised by unique workmanship and sound quality. A special feature of this  Naal is that the high-quality skins have, like the Tabla skins, a black GAB (Shyahi) on the outside of the skin and, as you can see from the images, that the skin for the treble has been crafted in a special way. On Naal it is possible to improvise without knowing the special syllables as they are used for example on Tabla, but if the player is familiar with these syllables he has much more differnciated possibilities in sound production than with a Dholak.

The red cloth in picture 5 can be ordered separately as an accessory to cover the metal mechanics. The cloth is provided with standard Velcro fasteners.
